Uh Oh!

Ok I know I said in my last post that I was going to change my layout to something festive, but I seem to be having problems with my home computer, hopefully not a virus. So bear with me and I will get a new layout, just don't think I am crazy for putting up the plainest background and saying I was being festive!

Finally a New Post!

I am finally after weeks and weeks taking a moment to sit down at the computer and give everyone a little update. I feel like I have been going non stop since the beginning of October, or maybe even before then. I have 37 preschoolers right now and when I get home I am usually just exhausted. We have been visiting with my family every weekend for the past month, I think, so it feels like I haven't seen anyone in forever. It is hard when all your family is out of town and sometimes I wish we lived closer, but we are very happy where we are and I would never want to give up our church and our wonderful friends just for the convenience of being closer. It is hard when we are traveling so much, but we get to visit with them pretty often, and we talk everyday, so we are still very close.

I have decided to go all out and change my blog layout and everything. I am starting to feel very festive. This is one of my absolute favorite times of year and I am really looking forward to the holidays. Hope you enjoy it!

Nothing much is new with us, Emmalee is getting so big, and she thinks she is bigger than she is. She begged to have her ears pierced so we did it, only to have one of them get infected 3 weeks later. It was looking great and healing fine and then all the sudden it was really red and swollen. The doctor said it just happens sometimes especially with little girls who touch their ears with dirty fingers. So, we had to take it out and let it heal up. The other one looks beautiful though! We are planning on getting it repierced as soon as we can so she doesn't have to run around with one earring. We also moved Emmalee into a twin bed. Adam was hesitant, but I insisted she was big enough, and she was sleeping in a toddler bed with a crib mattress, so we figured it would be best to make the transition now instead of trying to explain why we were taking her bed away when her new baby brother or sister gets here in May (did you notice the new ticker?). We are SO excited and feel very blessed to have been given the opportunity to be parents to a new little life. I feel like being Emmalee's mother is the reason I was put on the Earth and I am sure I will feel the same way about the new one. And Adam, who doesn't usually share his feelings about things, tells me often that being a daddy is the most impotant thing in the world to him. Boy or girl makes no difference, we are just praying for a healthy little baby.

So now that you all have eye strain from staring at your computer reading this novel, I will wrap this up with the intentions of posting more often so I don't have to do this again!

Baby Bunny

Sorry I haven't blogged in so long. I have been so busy settling in to the new house and my new school. Just wanted to share with you the baby bunny that Adam found on our patio last Sunday morning before Sunday School. It was so cute. Emmalee just loved it. I tried my best to convince Adam to let us keep it, but he just wouldn't. Emmalee rushed out to see it when we got back home and she was so disappointed that it had hopped away. However, when we went to Dairy Queen with Jessica, Travis and Baby Ella, Emmalee got a baby bunny toy in her kids meal. I think in her mind it was just as good as the real thing!

BIG Week!

We have had a big week. Last Thursday, I got a new job teaching preschool at Rich Pond Elementary. I loved my school in Barren County and I will miss everyone there so much, but I feel so blessed that the Lord has given me the opportunity to work closer to home, with the raging gas prices we are dealing with. I know everything happens for a reason, and I think this is going to be a good change for us. Also, this weekend we FINALLY moved into our new house. We had a lot of help moving in. Jessica really helped me get organized, especially in the kitchen. Here is a picture of the house, don't you love the front yard? Actually we have some landscaping now, and maybe we will have grass before long. I am just glad to finally be in it. This is where we plan on raising our family, and hopefully we will not be going anywhere else for a very long time.

Elizabeth's Wedding

My younger sister, Elizabeth, got married in Elizabethtown on July 12th. I was an outdoor wedding at an historic home. It was very pretty, but also VERY hot. Here are a few pictures. (My friend Tanya was the photographer). The dress she is wearing was actually my mom's wedding dress. It had sleeves in it, but they were in bad shape after 25 years so they had them taken out, but other than that it is just the same. And I know you can't see them, but she is also wearing pearl earrings that Mom, and then I, wore on our wedding day. In the group shot, the guy on the end with the dred locks is my younger brother. If you have never met him, he is a really fun and incredible person, despite what he chooses to do with his hair.

Happy 4th of July!

Our 4th of July was very busy! Friday we went to Adam's mom's in Indiana and visited with his whole family. That was nice because we don't see them that often. And Emmalee had a blast swimming and playing with her cousins. Saturday we visited with my family and had a big cookout and watched fireworks. Sunday was the rehersal dinner for my sister's wedding. This weekend is sure to be busy with Elizabeth's wedding and (hopefully) starting to move into the new house.

Isn't She Beautiful!

I was going to wait to post these pictures, but I just had to show them off! Emmalee is going to be the flower girl in my sisters wedding in July. These are some pictures we had made in her flower girl dress. I was so amazed at how beautiful they turned out that I almost cried. She is lucky she looks like her daddy!

Emme's First Tea Party

Sunday was my sister Elizabeth's bridal shower. It was hosted by my aunt and cousin and the theme was a tea party. We had a wonderful time!

Splish Splash!

Emmalee loves to be in the water! She has really outgrown her little pool from last summer, but we are waiting until we get moved to get her a bigger one. She has so much fun going "wimmin".

I Love You Stinky Face

This is Emmalee "reading" her favorite book, "I Love You, Stinky Face" by Lisa McCourt. It is adorable and I recommend it to anyone with kids. It is so funny the books that kids pick as their favorite, but Emme likes this one and we read it all the time. I actually took a video of it but it didn't want to play so here are some snips from the video. I wish you all could hear her read it. It is so cute!

Gatlinburg

Adam and Emmalee at Laurel Falls in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. It was a beautiful hike up to the falls but it really made me realize how out of shape I am!

Adam and Emmalee feeding a bird at the bird sanctuary in Pigeon Forge. I'm not a huge bird, but Emmalee really liked it and the setting was beautiful!
Catherine also had a very nice time feeding the birds. They loved her! We weren't sure if we would be able to get them off!
Caroline did NOT have such a nice time feeding the birds. She has the scratches on her arms to prove it!
The three of us at the aquarium in Gatlinburg. I am a bigger fan of fish than birds. Emmalee was really excited to see "Nemo" and "Dory".

Let's Give This A Try!

Well, I have decided to give this blog thing a try. Hopefully I will keep it upddated and everyone can see what is new with all of us (especially Emmalee).
